Recently I found a WIFI hotspot service called Boingo that supports the Mylo. I searched all of the Mylo forums using the keyword “Boingo,” and didn’t see any results, so I’m guessing that many Mylo users may not yet be aware of the service. Boingo offers unlimited WIFI hotspot service at Barnes and Nobel, McDonalds, Starbucks, and other kinds of places throughout the world; http://boingo.jiwire.com/hotspot-hot-spot-directory-browse-by-location.htm (http://boingo.jiwire.com/hotspot-hot-spot-directory-browse-by-location.htm).

Over the last few weeks, I had been working with Boingo tech support to try to get my Mylo Com-1 to access their $7.95 per month unlimited WIFI “Boingo Mobile” plan for smartphones, http://mobile.boingo.com/ (http://mobile.boingo.com/), but it turned out that Boingo detects the Mylo as a laptop. Once we figured that out, I was able to access their service through the $9.95 per month “Boingo unlimited” laptop plan, https://signup.boingo.com/signup/SignupStart.app?PROMO=UNL01090USD0&SCC=BOIBDC001&PLANTYPE=UNLIMITED (https://signup.boingo.com/signup/SignupStart.app?PROMO=UNL01090USD0&SCC=BOIBDC001&PLANTYPE=UNLIMITED), and it’s been working well. I heard from Boingo tech that they'd like to support the Mylo through their less expensive Boingo Mobile plan, which would be great, and maybe even support “instant log in” with the Mylo.

I’ve found Boingo tech support to be very helpful, and I’ve been very pleased with their WIFI service. I visit a nearby Barnes and Nobel coffee shop just about every day, and being able to make unlimited calls from there with my Mylo and Skype Out using Boingo Unlimited has been great. I did the math, and it comes to about 35 cents a day.

I hope an administrator will re-post this message on the Announcements forum so that Mylo Com-2 users will also be aware of it.
