i never had any system stability problems. and what does "internet applications interoperability improvements" mean?
there still isnt a button to open that second browser window, theres still no aim, and still no flash support. i want to be able to go to youtube, use orb networks, and talk on aim, and i cant do any of that. in fact, the only noticable change is that when you go to tools, settings, network settings...it now has the t-mobile usa auto login option.
2 months between updates and thats it? maybe by xmas of '08 i can talk on aim using my dated mylo.
I was a pretty optimistic Mylo user, and I was really holding out for this update. I figured that since the promotion started mid-november that Sony would finally work the bugs out of this device. Instead, every single bug that existed before the update is still there.
Major Bug List:
 If you manually sign out of Skype and then sign back in, your contacts go away. They don't go "offline" they disappear! Poof! Gone!
 Skype "tools" won't show your account credit remaining unless you manually sign out, and then sign back in. Meaning you have to chose between viewing your account credit/info or seeing your contacts.
 Skype incoming caller id still is not functional, even you have purchased it.
I give Sony until January to fix these and then I am signing/joining whatever petition or lawsuit other inevitably ****ed owners will have started

Sony's website sucks for downloads. It always takes 5-10 times before I can download the entire file. So I've posted it here. Hopefully it will work much better than Sony's site.

Good idea. I tryed to do the same, but it wouldn't let download the file at all!
Would someone be kind enough to post the BIN file? I am on a Mac and it's the only way for me to update.
Cheers,
Jim
Sorry...just found it in one of the other threads. Thanks.
No probs, I should have linked it. Link here guys. (http://www.myloforums.net/showthread.php?t=298)

does this mean we can start using the free access to the t-mobile hotspots? anyone tried it?
If by next firmware and there is still nothing, then I think the mylo's future will be doomed. No games, No MSN messenger? Come on dude, don't SONY know MSN has tons more users than YIM? or better, why don't think use a universal messenger that will work with all the popular messengers? That will solve everyone's problem.. DUMB DUMB SONY!! Please Wake up and read this board SONY!!! oh forgot, it's SONY they are too big and fat, they care less if a little product like mylo is successful or not.. Oh well.. We are just one of sony's lab rat. Done ranting.. but SONY you need a universal messenger!! Not to mention about FLASH Support!!
MSN works with the Mylo because Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger talk to each other now. You can add MSN users to Yahoo Messenger.
And, from what I understand you can add AIM to GTalk (Although in this case, I haven't tried that.)
The product hasn't been out that long. The software development cycle to add new things, test, and release is a slow process. Look how long it took the PSP to get most of its updates. The unit has been out for over a year now and it's a flagship product. Give them some time. They just gave up the T-Mobile Hotspot stuff for free, and I imagine we'll see further improvements every month.

Wait how do i add aim to gtalk or msn to yahoo? i tried and couldn't...thanks
Yeah..I heard you can use YIM to talk to MSN, but I never tried it before, can you teach us how? I tried my mylo and it doesn't work, so I think I might need to do it on the PC side.. but I just don't want to install YIM on my computer..
Well i know how to do it on a computer but how do i import the list?
if anyone knows i can post a tut
Yahoo Messenger accepts MSN contacts/emails. The Mylo device may not let you add them (I haven't checked, I add them through my PC and they show up.) So you may have to install YIM on your PC to get it to work on your Mylo. You can always uninstall it once you're done.
As for the GTalk Aim hack, I thought I read this somewhere but I can no longer find it. You can use aimonpsp.com but it's a bit crunched.
Only the Yahoo! IM v8 client will exchange with an MSN/Live Messenger v8 client, and vice-versa. As a result, Yahoo! IM on mylo will not show any MSN/Live Messenger users thus you cannot send to MSN/Live Messenger from mylo. And anyone trying to send from MSN/Live Messenger v8 to a mylo Yahoo! IM user will be told the user is offline -- regardless of whether the user is logged in using Yahoo! IM on mylo.

why is everyone so bent out of shape about the Mylo not having AIM? I mean ya its an inconvenience and everything but there are a TON of things that could be updated with firmware rather than just the AIM client. Such as:
MORE SKYPE SUPPORT! some functions of skype work but most are lame. For example, only 5 ringtones built into skype for the mylo? what is that about?.
What about an email client built in rather than web?
Maybe some sort of SMS application could be added?
The scrolling fluidity needs to be beefed up on web browsing rather than this herky Jerky crap.

deftdrummer: I'm personaly interested in suport for more IM-clients because I want to use the Mylo for Instant messaging. I see the music/video-suport as a bonus to the IM/skype/mail-services. But what kind of personal communicator doesn't suport MSN? Even celular phones can do it.
