Amazon.com Ship Date

I pre-ordered it on Amazon.com on August 31st. On my invoice, the estimated delivery date is NOVEMBER 2ND. I then proceeded to email the site's customer service and they stated the following:

Our latest information indicates that "Sony mylo Personal
Communicator COM-1 2.4" LCD-Black" has not yet been released and the
expected release date is not known. As soon as a release date has
been determined for this item, we will add that information to our
web site.

So I'm wondering, why would Sony not provide them information when the item is to be released in 2 days? I find it odd for a large retailer such as Amazon to not be provided with such.

I've been in contact with Sony, they say "there is no delay that they know off for the Sony Mylo".

There are others on this forum that have ordered the Mylo via Amazon & they have already been dispatched, not sure why you are getting these problems.
Try customer services again perhaps?

I just pre-ordered mine from Amazon. They're estimating a shipping date of November 17. Now, this can mean one of several things:

Nothing. Amazon's shipping estimates very rarely have anything to do with reality.
That Amazon greatly underestimated demand, and that their entire first shipment has been sold out, and we're just going to have to wait until they get more supply.
There's been some other sort of problem that we're not aware of.

However, if the case is that Amazon is out of stock, I'll order from SonyStyle or some place else. November is ridiculous.

I pre-ordered from Amazon on Sept 6th and my shipping date is Nov 14~15. I would say WTF but it sounds like they're easily padding the estimate date by 2 months for everyone.

Has anyone here actually gotten their Amazon.com shipped mylo yet, and did your shipping date upon ordering even close to reality?

Waiting 2 months for this is stupid. I might get temped to pickup a Zune instead.

...and Amazon.com still claims the mylo isn't available yet. When they update their site, I suspect we'll get more accurate information. Something a "sold out" and expected order date, etc... (hopefully)
